Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Yvonne M. Spikes, age 81, who passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her residence under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. She was a resident of Appling County since 1968; a retired head bookkeeper with A & P Food Stores and retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company in McRae. She was a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester “Sonny” Spikes; daughter, Sherry Darlene Crump and parents, Herbert and Delilah Miller.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and wife Barbara Spikes of Baxley and Alan and wife Amy Spikes of Baxley; seven grandchildren, Scott and wife Holly Crump, Curtis and wife Cristi Crump, Michelle and husband Eric Jefferson, Lester and wife Violet Spikes, Clint Spikes, Christopher Spikes, Dillon Spikes and Macy-Grace Spikes; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother, Herbert L. and wife Mary Miller Jr. of Jesup and other family also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the Red Oak Baptist Church with the Reverends M.L. Ricks, Ron Ross and Daniel Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Satilla Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to services at the church.
Active Pallbearers will be Les Spikes, Clint Spikes, Russell Griffin, Rickey Potter, Ray Potter and Randall Odum.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Eastern Star, GA Hospice Care, Appling EMS, Lewis Parker, Benny DeLoach, Clifton Mincey and all family and friends in attendance.
