Winston D Johnson

Winston D. Johnson, 69, passed away October 16, 2012 at Appling Healthcare Systems. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County. He served in the Georgia National Guard for 16 years and was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Amelia K. Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Shawn Johnson and wife Karen of Douglas and Stephen Johnson of Baxley; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Smith of Alma and Edith Bass of Palatka, FL; two brothers, Wilbur "Jim" Johnson of Jacksonville, FL and Carroll Johnson of Blythe Island; nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Visitation will be held October 18, 2012 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2 pm at the David E. Miles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Bryant Bishop and Reverend Keith Alderman officiating.
