Winifred Norris, 89, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, MS, where she was in the care of one of her children. Born January 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Vertie Williams, who lived in Baxley, GA. Winifred lived in Bastrop, LA for over 45 years where she raised three children with her husband Kenneth Owen Norris, who passed away in 1998.

Winifred was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Bastrop and long-time owner and manager of the Red Barn Convenience Store in Log Cabin, LA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Col. Kenneth Derryl Norris of Pitkin, LA, Dennis Owen Norris of Vicksburg, MS, and Janice Ann Wood of Gretna, LA and by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Miles~Nobles Funeral Home with Winifred's great nephew, Glynn Stone, and Pastor Charles Coss officiating.

Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Matt Norris, David Norris, Kenny Norris, Gregory Wood, Joe Nuccio, Randy Kimbrel, Jimmy Branch and Randy Morris.

Musical selections will be offered by Chelsea Norris and Amanda Norris.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group at 222 South. Washington Street, Bastrop, LA 71220.
