Wilma Spell

On Sunday, May 14, 2023, Wilma Gardner Spell passed away in her home. She was 79 years old.

Wilma was born on March 19, 1944, to the late Bill and Marie Altman Gardner of Baxley. She had numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Wilma was married to Mr. Wadis “Darvin” Spell for 36 years and they shared 1 child together Mr. Brandon Kad Spell (spouse Jennifer Gallion Spell) Mrs. Wilma has 4 children, Randy White (spouse Bambi Gray White) of Baxley, Tammy Smith Carter (spouse Dewayne Carter) of Baxley, Cynthia Kae White Henderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Danny Smith (spouse Shari Branch Smith) of Baxley. Together Darvin and Wilma have 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Wilma owned and operated many convenience stores and one of the first arcades in Baxley, she worked in factories around Baxley including Douglas and Harper for many years. Later in life she ran a successful bee business with her husband Darvin.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. from Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne Williamson, and Reverend Freddy Gardner officiating.

Interment will follow in Friendship Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Home.

Active Pallbearers are Matthew Smith, Jared Henderson, Auston White, Clayton Smith, George Spell, and Chad Gallion.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hospice of South GA, Andy Williams, Chasity Whitfield, Regenia Turner Davis, Stephen and Patton Smith.
