Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Ms. Willene Floyd who passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at her residence. She worked on the family farm, for Douglas & Harper factory, a homemaker, and a caregiver, she was also a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. Ms. Floyd enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing.


Ms. Floyd is preceded in death by her husband, William Folece Floyd; her parents, James “Bud” and Williard B. Shipes; one daughter, Janice Knight; and four siblings, Claudine Shipes, Jeraldine Willoughby, Connie Mincey, and James Vernon “Preacher” Shipes.

Surviving are her two children, Cathy (Terry) Temples of Baxley and Chris (Lisa) Floyd of McRae; six grandchildren, Robin (Les) Grimm of Baxley, Dallas (Renee) Sikes of Odum, Amanda (Kevin) Carter of Baxley, Chelsea (Glenn) Kersey of Baxley, Brandon Floyd of Baxley, and Matthew (Paige) Floyd of Jesup; two step-grandchildren, Lacey Wilkes of Jesup, and Amber Upshaw of McRae; twelve great grandchildren; three siblings, Bonnie Carter, Glenn (Donna) Shipes, and Denny (Ann) Shipes all of Baxley also survive.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Barber and Reverend Rick Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the Asbury Church Cemetery.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.

Active Pallbearers are Dallas Sikes, Dawsyn Sikes, Les Grimm, Romie Grimm, Kevin Carter, and Van Carter.

Honorary Pallbearers are GHC Hospice of Jesup, Elaine Harris of Angels with Care of Baxley, Henry and Runell Branch, Ronnie and Peggy White, Jeanette Beasely, Rosalee Leggett, Millie Alls, Caroline Anderson and Girls at Dr. Carter’s office of Baxley, Briana Aycock, and Merle Long.
