Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Wilbur W. Peacock, 76, who passed away Wednesday, January 08, 2014 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a graduate of Appling County High School. He was the owner of Peacock Oil since 1970 and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Crosby Chapel United Methodist Church, the Appling County Chamber of Commerce, the Stockman's Association, the Georgia Oilman's Association and numerous civic and other community activities. He was the son of G.J. Peacock and Pauline Weaver Peacock. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Christine Peacock and Linda Medders and one brother, Winton Peacock.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Wynelle Crosby Peacock of Baxley, a daughter, Cynthia and Elliott Carter of Baxley; a granddaughter, Jordan L. Carter of Hazlehurst; a sister, Juanita and Gene Hutcheson of McBean, GA; two brothers, James and Mary Lu Peacock of Glenwood and Johnny and Ruth Peacock of Baxley; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 6-9pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2013 at 12pm at the Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Creig Smith and Reverend Buddy Coss officiating.

Interment will follow at Crosby Chapel United Methodist Church.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, Justin Taylor, Jared Turner, Cole Harrison, Payne Eason, Russell Dupree, Bobby Dupree, Stephen S. Tillman and Chris Peacock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy and Dawn McClung, Helen and Donnie Smith, Julie and Ken Wiggins, Allan and Becky Brock, Tammy and Tommy Hand, Arrick Jackson, Donnie Reeves, Judy McDaniel, Mandy Garcia and all friends in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Crosby Chapel United Methodist Church.
