Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the graveside service for Mr. Richard Leigh, age 72, who passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Appling Healthcare. Mr. Leigh worked the past fifty-five years, beginning at Thompson Farm Supply at the age of 16 and then with the Appling County Road Department for the past 24 years before retiring at the age of 71.

Mr. Leigh is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Leigh; his father, Newell Leigh; a brother, Newell Leigh Jr; and a nephew Timmy Nail.

Surviving is his mother, Margie Leigh of Baxley; two sisters, Mary Baxley of Baxley, and Janice White (Peedy) of Odum; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. from Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tom McCoy officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are former and current employees of the Appling County Road Department.
