Nina "Montene" Rewis

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mrs. Nina “Montene” Rewis, age 68, who passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at Memorial Health in Savannah.  Mrs. Rewis was a longtime resident of Appling County. Montene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loved by many. She took pride in all her children and loved them all dearly. Life to her was taking care of her family. She was a very proud grandmother who would go above and beyond for her grandchildren, her joy was found in being with them every day. She loved her home and put all her work into making her own little paradise.  Mrs. Rewis loved the simple things in life. Her mornings always started off with a cup of coffee on her porch while listening to her wind chimes. She loved working in her yards. We can only imagine what her mansion in heaven looks like. She will be loved and missed by many; we will see her again one day.

Mrs. Rewis is preceded in death by two sons, John Bass and Sam Bass; her parents, Ernest and Mina Lee Shadron Nipper; and four siblings, Harry Nipper, Larry Nipper, Jody Nipper, and Ernestine Gibbs.

Surviving is her husband of twenty-eight years, Jimmy Rewis; six children, Leisa Butler, Cyrus “Bo” Bass (BJ), Matt Bass (Shonda), Becky Bass, Angie Mendoza, and Emmett Gibbs; a host of grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and three sisters, Diane Lord, Estine Nipper, and Terry Nipper (Peggy).

The funeral service will be Friday, October 6, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. from Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jacob Thompson.

Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.

Active Pallbearers will be Kwame McKenzie, Tristan Bass, Emmett Gibbs, Brent Youngblood, JR Bass, Raul Maldonado, and Daniel Ansley.
