Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the memorial service for Ms. Nancy Locke Sellers, age 83, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at her home surrounded by her children. Ms. Sellers was born in Delaware, living in Baltimore, MD as a child with her mother during WWII, while her father was in the Army stationed in Germany, moving to Virginia, where her parents were originally from. She Graduated high school from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, VA; then she attended James Madison University, Harrisonbug, VA.

 

Married with three children and established several careers, working at the CIA and her favorite being a US Geological Survivor, as well as being one of the first Computer Operators.

 

After meeting Lake in Herndon, VA they moved back to Baxley, Lake’s childhood home and took up farming. She enjoyed the rural life and began to work at the courthouse as well while Lake was the Bailiff. Ms. Sellers was also member of Melton Chapel Methodist Church; she loved her church family and spoke of the often.

 

Ms. Sellers is preceded in death by her husband, Lake Sellers, and her parents, Raymond and Ester Poole Locke.

 

Surviving are her three children, Doug Ross (Alyssa) of Baxley GA, Debbie Ross of Bristol, TN, and Tim Ross (Marsha) of Florence, KY; two stepchildren, Larry Sellers (Kristina) of Baxley, GA and David Sellers of Baxley, GA; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a brother, John Locke (Dorothy) of Missoula, MT; and numerous extended family members also survive.

 

A Celebration of Life was held March 5, 2022, at 1:30 P.M. when her dearest and closest friends gathered for an emotional remembrance.

 

The family extends a heartfelt Thank You to all the community members who generously shared their time, food, thoughts, and prayers. Especially to our Godmother, Elsie Hood of Centreville, VA; Nancy’s lifetime “sister of the heart”, Our Wanda Ammos, Cecil Griffin, and Donna Carter all of Baxley, Ga, the nurses and staff with Hospice of South Georgia, Pastor Dave Page, and Nobles Funeral Home.
