Jesup- Mrs. Mattie A. Waddell, age 88, passed away Saturday, March 02, 2013 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South GA. She was a native of Appling County and had lived the past 14 years in Jesup. Mrs. Mattie was a retired CNA at Appling General Hospital and a member of New Life Pentecostal Church. She loved fishing, cooking, the outdoors and gospel sings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Waddell and a son, Roger Lee Turner.

Surviving are three daughters, Eunice and Sam "Butch" Waddell of Jesup, Patricia and Herbert Westberry of Odum and Brenda and Pete Rozier of Baxley; 5 sons, Charles "Butch" Turner of Jesup, Howard and Pat Turner of Douglas, Thomas Turner of Baxley, Eddie and Rhonda Turner of Etowah, TN and Randy and Anne Turner of Lakeland; 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and a brother, Connie Weaver Jr. of Baxley also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the David E. Miles Chapel of Miles-Nobles Funeral Home with the Reverend Justin Drawdy and the Reverend David Hubbs officiating.

Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Roger Turner, Alan Turner, Michael Westberry, Ricky Newton, Shelton Westberry, Charles Turner and Richie Turner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of South GA.
