Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Youngblood, age 84, who passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015. She was born in Toombs County and lived in Jeff Davis County for the past four years. She was a member of Snow Hill Community Church, a retired CNA and a mother to many.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Black; grandparents, John and Mary Odum; children, Chuck, Odean, Penny and Editha; siblings, Bonnie Phillips, Hazle Tew and Johnny Black; special uncle, Ben Odum; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include five children, Patricia Foskey and husband Dennis of Hazlehurst, Loretta Burkett of Baxley, Bill Smith and wife Steph of Newman, GA, Charles "Leon" Smith and wife Shirley of Baxley and Michael Burkett and wife Laura of Hogansville, GA; 17 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Soloman and husband Bert and Agnes Black; special cousin, Estelle Landers; special friends, Gail and Snookie Thornton; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10 am at Hardens Chapel Methodist Church with the Reverend John Griffin and Charles "Leon" Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hardens Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Isidoro "Izzy" Garcia, James Burkett, Shawn Burkett, Sr., Shawn Burkett, Jr., Allie Griffin and William "Jr." Smith.
