Miles-Nobles Funeral Home announces the services of Mr. Marvin J. O'Berry Sr., age 82, who passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Lumber City Nursing and Rehab. He was a native of Appling County; a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War in which he earned two bronze stars for the service to his country; a retired machinist with Eastern Airlines and a member of the Lumber City Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mary O'Berry of Hazlehurst; four children, Jeanette and husband Bobby Glenn of Tifton, Barbara Slowinski of Winder, Marvin James O'Berry Jr. of Hogansville and David and wife Lisa O'Berry of Baxley; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Wade O'Berry of Kingsland and other family also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Barry Teutsch officiating.
Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
