Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Marvin L. Callaway, United States Navy, Ret., age 75, who passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Candler Hospital in Savanah. He was a native of Appling County and served in the United States Navy for 22 years serving all around the world. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ethel Altman Callaway and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda Stone Callaway of Baxley; one son, Marvin Rex Callaway and wife Dawna of Debary, FL; one daughter, Melinda Callaway Chancey and husband David of Screven; three grandchildren, Beau Chancey, Emily Chancey and Allison Callaway; one brother, Jimmy Callaway and wife Alice of Baxley; one sister, Patsy Lanier and husband George of Guyton, several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2pm at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ben DeFore and Reverend Justin McLellan officiating.

The funeral precession will be leaving the funeral home at 1:30pm on Tuesday. Any family or friends wanting to join the family please be at the funeral home by 1pm.

Interment will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Rodney Carter, Dylan Carter, Kelly Chancey, Jason Young, Emmanuel Escobar and Michael Stone.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Appling County Class of 1959 and spouses, Knicole Lee and Teresa Cezar.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church Building fund at 2899 Asbury Church Road, Baxley, GA 31513.
