Margaret Ann Herndon

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mrs. Margaret Ann Herndon, age 85, who passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Appling County Healthcare. Mrs. Herndon was a native of Jeff Davis County living in Appling County in 1964. She was a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Herndon is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Grady and Inez Attaway Johnson; a grandchild, Jessica Crosby Covington; and a great grandchild, Chloe Defore.

Surviving is her husband of sixty-four years, H.M. Herndon; three daughters, Miriam Johnson (Jimmy), Cynthia Branch (Lanier), and Susan Dowling (Carl); nine grandchildren, Victoria Tuetsch (Samuel), Carrie Vanderver (Jeff), Anna Defore (Tim), Jonathan Branch (Jeremy), Christopher Crosby, Stephen Dowling, Aaron Dowling, Claire Dowling, and Thomas Dowling; numerous great grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Underwood also survive.

The graveside service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Reverend Charles Davis officiating and a eulogy by Aaron Dowling.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.

Active Pallbearers are Aaron Dowling, Thomas Dowling, Samuel Teutsch, Jeff Vanderver, Christopher Crosby, Gary Covington.
