Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service of Ms. Lucille Salter, age 79, who passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Salter was a native of Appling County, a retired seamstress with Ship and Shore, a Sunday School teacher, pianist, and a former member of the first established Pineridge Baptist Church.

 

Ms. Salter is preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy McMillan, and Roland Salter; a son, Mitchell McMillan; a grandson, Joshua Mincey; her parents, Aaron and Mary Jane Lightsey; a brother, Aaron Lightsey Jr; and a sister, Judy Branch.

 

Surviving are her two children, Michelle Hunter (Kevin) and Cathy Parlor (Joe Henry); six grandchildren, Christy Johnson (Steven), Cheryl Emond (George), Cody Parlor (Erin), Dana Shipes (Kevin), Wesley Mincey (Kendra); six great grandchildren, Abram, Theodore, Layla, Emmilynn Rosemary, Kaysen, and Josiah; a daughter in law, Carolyn McMillan; three siblings, Lafaughn Lightsey (Melanie), Joseph Lightsey, and Pat Summerall (David); and two special friends, Teresa Boatright and Cheryl and Jack Holland; nieces and nephews also survive.

 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. from the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating.

 

Interment will follow in the Big Creek Church Cemetery.

 

Ms. Salter will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

Active Pallbearers are Cody Parlor, Wesley Mincey, Steven Johnson, George Emond, Kevin Shipes, David Summerall and Aaron Summerall.

 

Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Henry, Hospice of South Georgia, and Dr. Wade Strickland.
