Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Louise Dubberly Johnson, age 85, who passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Appling Healthcare Systems. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County. Mrs. Johnson was a retired sales clerk for Ace Hardware and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lannis Johnson; parents, Clyde Eston and Ola McNeal Dubberly and three siblings, Cecil Dubberly, Claude Dubberly and Leroy "Red" Dubberly.
Survivors include three children, Janice and Dwight Courson, Marilyn and Mickey Bass and Lamar and Doris Johnson all of Baxley; eight grandchildren, Chris and Beth Courson, Casey Courson, Doug and Andrea Bass, Corey and Melissa Bass, Dustin and Malanda Johnson, Marah Johnson, Rachel Ware and Russell Ware; nine great grandchildren; eight siblings, Clarice Swinson of Chapin, SC, Manning "Bud" and Beth Dubberly of Prince George, VA, Frances and Linton McGlohon of Savannah, Frank and Elva Jean Dubberly of Savannah, Doris and Don Duggar of Richmond Hill, Pat and Wally Moody of Jesup, Joe and JoAnn Dubberly of Baxley and Paul and Donna Dubberly of Baxley; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church with the Reverend Paul Dubberly,Reverend Brad Park and Reverend Rick Brown officiating. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services.
Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Doug Bass, Corey Bass, Chris Courson, Casey Courson, Dustin Johnson and Tim Claxton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sylvia Sellers, Peggy Miles, Charles and Eileen Stone, Margaret and Billy Bullard, Peggy and Lee Mayers, Norman and Geneva McKinney, Martha and Parnell Morris, staff of the Pavilion and all friends in attendance.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church at 218 Woodlawn Church Road, Baxley, GA 31513.
