Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Lonieta Gadson Monroe, age 77, who passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Jesup Healthcare. She was a native of Delray Beach, FL and a member of Resurrection Primitive Baptist Church in Jesup. She retired after 30 of service as a 5th grade teacher with the Palm Beach County School System and received her Master’s Degree from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Monroe and two brothers, Harvey Gadson and James Gadson.
Survivors include one daughter, Dierdre Palmer and husband Rick of Jesup; one step daughter, Cassandra Monroe of Sunrise, FL; nine grandchildren, Joselyn Platt and husband Myles, John Randolph Monroe, Jessica Monroe, Joseph Balkcom, Lynett Parker and husband Larry, Alexandra Simmons, Chasity Monroe, Darrielle Henderson and Barton Taylor; a host of great grandchildren; one brother, John Gadson and wife Joyce of Macon; one sister, Mary Davis, Sr. and husband William of Quitman and one cousin, Lannie Mae Harris of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2pm at the Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Brandon J. Moore officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
