Larry Bartles

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the graveside service for Mr. Donald “Larry” Bartles, age 73, who passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his residence in Columbus, GA following a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was a devoted Christian and gospel music lover who enjoyed sharing his wit and sense of humor with family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Sandy Bartles, half-brother, David Lee Bartles, step-brothers, Donnie, Barry, and Tom Thomas, brother-in-law, Greg Swanger, and parents, David Oliver Bartles and Ruth Eleanor Thomas (nee Johns).

Survivors include his brother, Robert (Patti) Bartles, sisters-in-law, Joanne (James) Anthony, Nancy Yates, Patricia Roth, Belinda Baxley, Pamela Swanger, and Valarie Downard, brothers-in-law, Michael Swanger, and Quinton Stephens, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to sister-in-law and caregiver, Pat Roth, and all family members, for the love and care given to Larry during his illness.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 21ST at 10:00 A.M. from the Ten-Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Rick Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to the Gideons International in Larry’s honor for his love and devotion to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
