Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the memorial service for Mr. Kenneth Stone, age 89, who passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Appling Healthcare. Mr. Stone was a retired carpenter, former peewee football coach with the Appling County Recreation Department, and a member of Midway Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for the Adult Senior Men’s Sunday School Class. . He was an avid hunter, fisherman, teller of tall tales and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Stone is preceded in death by three children, Ellis Christopher Stone, Debbie Stone, and Sandra Joyce Shores; a grandchild, James Tannic Odum; parents, Ellis, and Pearl Herrington Stone; and four siblings, Bernice Stone, Ellis Junior Stone, Hilliard Stone, and Carolyn Stone.
Surviving are his two children, Ira Chan Stone, and Ken Stone (Brandi); ten grandchildren, Chuck Hallman, Taff Vaughn (Dara), Destiny Gay (Adam), Haley Dickerson (Robb), Tucker Stone (Heather), Chase Stone (Haley), Madison Stone, Kyla Stone, Blakelyn Brannen (Jesse), and Drake Carter (Shelby), numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a nephew, Welsey Stone, a niece, Barbara Ann Stone, and his caregiver, Holly Bryant
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. from the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Benji McReady officiating.
Interment will follow in Asbury Church Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Honorary Pallbearers are Wade McDaniel, James McDaniel, Levy Wilkerson, Russell Beecher, Troy Collins, Rick Brown, Zeno Bryant, Earl Moore, Mike Howell, Carlos Leggett, Sonny Moody, Gene Head, Reggie Fredrick, Paul Hutcheson, and the Midway Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
