Johnnie Boyd Blanton, 90, of Hilliard, passed away on January 6, 2013, to be with her husband and love of her life. She is a native of Odum, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Hilliard, Florida. She retired from Kingsley Lake Campground. She continued to enjoy visiting the lake her entire life. Her greatest passion was her family and friends. She never met a stranger and welcomed all into her home. On Sundays you could expect her famous "Southern Style" home cooked meals. Afterwards be prepared to play her favorite card game "Aggravation Rummy" where she definitely was the queen of hearts. Heaven has indeed gained a beautiful angel. "Maw" ,well known to many, will be forever cherished by her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Blanton is predeceased by her husband of 70 years Daniel L. Blanton, sons, Charles T. Blanton and Robert W. Blanton.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Vickie (James) Rhoden of Hilliard; seven sons, Harry Blanton of Hilliard, John (Mary) Blanton, Richard (Sue) Blanton of Jacksonville, Steve (Janet) Blanton, Roger (Diane) Blanton of Yulee, Joe (Tina) Blanton of Callahan and Jeff (Sharon) Blanton of Hilliard Fla; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10 am from the Miles~Nobles Funeral Home, David E. Miles Chapel with the Reverend David Griffin officiating.

Interment will follow at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
