Miles ~ Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Joe Crapps Sr., age 74, who passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County; the owner of Crapps Fish Market and a member of Philippi Baptist Church where he served as song leader for over 20 years. Mr. Joe loved old cars and trucks and playing guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. and Annie Loyce Crapps and two sisters, Sonia Ann Davis and Betty Jean Crapps.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Janice Taylor Crapps of Baxley; one son, Joey and wife Catherine Crapps of Swainsboro and one daughter, Myra Crapps Pitts and special friend Derek Jones of Baxley; two brothers, Jimmy Crapps of Baxley and Jerry and wife Teresa Crapps of Baxley; two sisters, Fannie Sue Crosby of Baxley and Janice Anderson of Ludowici; five grandchildren, Taylor Pitts, Joe O. "Frog" and wife Stephanie Crapps III, Christopher Pinard, Jolie Crapps and Jed Crapps; three great-grandchildren, Cryslie Crapps, Kynslie Crapps and John Crapps; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 3 p.m. from the Miles ~ Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Andy Williams and Reverend M.L. Riggs officiating.

Interment will follow at Zoar Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Padgett, Patrick Spell, Wayne Crosby, David Crosby, Steve Crosby, Jimbo Crapps, Joey "Frog" Crapps III and Christopher Pinard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Adams, Johnny and Jinny McCrory, Betty Shipes, Freddie White, Chuck Nail, Walt Marlow, Maurice and Sue Simmons, Jim Bellah, Bob and Billy Burkett, Joe C. Henry, Billy Henry, Jack Henry, Preacher Butler, Lisa Lewis, Jackie Carr, Sam Drew Eden, Roy Bass, Marilyn Yawn, Pat Spell, Jessie Weaver, Kim Weaver, Lonnie Wooten, Mary Burns, Eric Carelock, Michelle Allday, Carrie Geiger, Dr. Teresa Cezar, Ray R.D. Gilliard, Martha Fletcher, Imodene Sapp and Hospice nurse and special caregiver Telleso "T".

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice Vidalia, GA at 2311 East First St., Suite B, Vidalia, GA 30474.
