Jim Thomas

Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Jim Thomas, age 68, who passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at his residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a retired mechanic and a member of Baxley Freewill Baptist Church. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loved fishing on Sapelo Island.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Thomas Griffin; two sisters, Janie Baxley and Lajuan Perry and parents, Herbert J. and Orita Carter Thomas.  

Survivors include his wife, Janice Thomas of Baxley; three daughters, Kendra and husband Ike Sellers of Sapelo Island, Heather and husband Dustin Farmer of Hazlehurst and Hope Thomas of Baxley; one son, Kevin and wife Frannie Thomas of Baxley; son-in-law, Jason and wife Lindsey Griffin of Baxley; eight grandchildren, Camden Farmer, Callie Farmer, Eli Sellers, Finn Sellers, Noah Thomas, Elijah Carter, Chandler Griffin and Caroline Griffin; four sisters, Mary and husband Robert Spell, Arnie Sue Crosby, Gail Hollyfield and Kathy Russell all of Baxley; one brother, Joel Ray and wife Darlene Thomas of Baxley; special friend, Holt Sellers of Baxley and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the Miles – Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Wayne Williamson, Caleb Folsum and David Herndon officiating.

Interment will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Kelly Murphy, Richard Russell, Dwain Spell, Tommy Spell, Shane Perry and Mitch Altman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Comfort Care Hospice.

Musical selections will be by David Williams and Floyd Hunter.
