J.H. "Whitey" Moody

Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of J.H " Whitey" Moody, 85, who passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Jeff Davis Hospital. He was a native of Jeff Davis County and a retired chef. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War with the 24th Infantry Division.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Hyman and Bertie Johnson Moody; six brothers, Fred Moody, James Moody, Dan Moody, Caroll Moody and Allen Moody and two sisters, Eunice Newberry and Maureen Moody.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Wilma Moody of Hazlehurst; two sons, Bill Moody and wife Sandra of Tallahassee, FL and Don Moody of Quincy, FL; three daughters, Revonda Moody of Wilmington, DE. Cheryl Collett and husband Russ of Rome, GA and Maureen Moody of Smyrna, DE; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Zell Moody and wife Sandy, Gene Moody and wife Ruby and Johnny Moody and wife Bonnie all of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held at later date.
