Jean Hunter Carter

August 16, 1930 — April 19, 2024

On April 19, 2004, the gentle soul of Jean Hunter Carter departed from this world peacefully at her niece's house. She was born on August 16, 1930, into the loving arms of A.P. and Willie Mae Hunter.

Jean dedicated her life to the art of sewing as a seamstress with Miller Western Wear, where her talent and creativity knew no bounds. Her nimble fingers weaved stories into fabrics, creating masterpieces that adorned many with elegance and style.

In her later years Ms. Jean loved serving the community hauling cattle with her husband Wade.

Outside of work, Jean found solace and joy as a member of the Spring Branch Baptist Church, where she nurtured her spiritual side and connected with her community.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Jean will forever remain a cherished memory. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade Carter; her dear daughters, Leila Jean Carter and Pamela Sue Carter; as well as her siblings Thomas Hunter, Carroll Hunter, David Hunter, Betty Dumas, and Nina Wigley.

Jean leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on by her surviving family members. Her siblings Mac Hunter, A.P. Hunter (Debbie), Nettie O'Quinn, Mary Alice Ross (Ron), and Ann White will continue to honor her memory with fondness and affection.
