James "Champ" Stone

Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Mr. James Edward Smith Stone "Champ", age 64, who passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 under the care of Southern Care Hospice. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Local Union 865 Brunswick. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of God since 1985.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Stone; parents, Edward Smith and Clyde Smith Carter and adopted mother, Etta Lee Stone.

Survivors include one son, Carl and Ann Stone of Baxley; four grandchildren, Monica Stone, Faith Stone, Brandon Stone and Payton Stone; four brothers, Allen Carter of Baxley, Claude Smith of Oklahoma, Mack Smith of Oklahoma and Eugene Smith of Baxley; five sisters, Sara Smith of Baxley, Cheryl Newman of Augusta, Evelyn Witcke of Texas, Terry Newman of Florida and Margrete Bullard of Brunswick; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2pm at Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dennis Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Juan Derez, Buddy Fralick, Greg Rogers, Larry Cothern, David Gardner and Ernie Driggers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Southern Care Hospice and Oak Grove Church of God members.
