James "Buck" Morris

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Mr. James “Buck” Morris, age 73, who passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Pavilion under the care of his family and Comfort Care Hospice. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and the former owner and operator of Morris Family Apiaries. Mr. Buck was a United States Army Veteran, a member of Zion Church of God and loved to fish.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jonnie Giddens Morris and his parents, Mr. Willie Lee and Mrs. Ruby O’Berry Morris.

Surviving is his son, Daniel Morris (Evelyn), daughter, Barbara Hewson, grandchildren, Emily Perkins, Rachel Hewson, Bailey Hewson, Alec Hewson and Harley Griffin, great grandchildren, Olivia Griffin and Cotton Griffin, siblings, Michael Ray Morris, Gerald Lamar Morris (Sherry), Brenda Morris (Bob Boop) and Beth Thomas.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 2 P.M. at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Statum and Reverend Danny Horne officiating.

Interment will follow in the Zion Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.

Active Pallbearers are Lee Fowler, Jason Rainwater, Jody Arnold, Aaron Horne, Aydan Horne, and Lawson Dixon.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Zion Church of God.
