James B. Fossett

James B. Fossett, age 85, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at his residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice. He was a lifelong resident of Appling County; a retired engineer with the GA Department of Transportation and a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church.

Mr. Fossett was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Rebecca Merrier Fossett.

Surviving is his wife of thirty-one years, Mrs. Annie M. Fossett of Baxley; three daughters, Rebecca F. Hallman, Janie and husband Nick Campbell and Donna and husband Charles Hopkins all of Baxley; one son, Steve and wife Dot Haire of Jesup; eight grandchildren, Paige Robinson, Jimmy Altman, Pam Hall, Stephanie Barwick, Matthew Haire, Micah Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Whysper Keane and Caitlin Campbell; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty and husband Rufus Todd of Baxley; one brother, Nickey and wife Amelia Fossett of Baxley; several nieces and nephews and other family members also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Miles-Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Barry Teutsch and Brother Andy Williams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Matthew Haire, Robin Williams, Milton Baxley, Nick Fossett, Stacy Williams and Neal Fossett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Southern Care Hospice.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2311 East First Street, Suite B, Vidalia, GA 30474.
