James P. Crapps

Baxley- James P. Crapps, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Appling Healthcare Systems under the care of Serenity Hospice. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a retired mechanic of Hazlehurst Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Crapps; parents, Jessie and Wealthy Crapps; one son, Jamie Jerry Crapps and one son in-law, Kenneth Spell.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Williams and husband Quitman and Janet Spell; two sons, Michael Crapps and Donnie Crapps and wife Pam; one brother, Harley Crapps; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2 pm at the David E. Miles Chapel with the Reverend Carlton Rowell and Reverend Jason Wynn officiating.

Interment will follow at the Surrency City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jerome Crapps, Billie Joe Crapps, Dewayne Crapps, Jody Crapps, Charlie Crapps and Michael Stallings.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Errol Graham, Staff at Serenity Hospice and all friends in attendance.
