Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. James Everett Carter, age 86, who passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at Lumber City Health and Rehab. Mr. Carter was a native of Appling County, retired from Hazlehurst Mills after forty-one years of service and a retired farmer. He was a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church, loved visiting with old friends and loved his kids and grandkids.
Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his wife, Joann Beach Carter; his parents, Henry and Dimple Bennett Carter; and a brother, William Wendall Carter.
Surviving are his two children, Keith Carter (Robin) and Patrick Carter (Lara); three grandchildren, Ryan Carter (Brandi), Zachary Carter, Austin Carter (Deanna), and Emily Carter; two great grandchildren, Savannah Sellers and Parker Carter; three siblings, Joyce Williams (Pat), Betty Lou Horne, and Darrel Carter (Wanda) and nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 12,2023, at 1:00 P.M. from Friendship Congregational Christian Church with Reverend Tony Forehand officiating.
Interment will follow in the Friendship Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Active Pallbearers are Zachary Carter, Ryan Carter, Austin Carter, Trey Mincey, Jeff Williams, and Jeff Altman.
The family will gather at the home of Keith and Robin Carter at 151 M.A. McNeal Drive Hazlehurst, GA 31539.
