Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Ira E. "Buddy" Leggett, 50, who passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Appling Health Care Systems. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a retired mechanic and attended Big Oaks Church of God. He loved to work on tractors, his dog Maggie Mae and Saturday night family get-togethers.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Jowers Leggett of Baxley; parents, I.J. and Rosalee Leggett of Baxley; one step son, Tim Gilliard of Savannah; three sisters, Sarah Leggett Tanaka of Baxley, Debbie Leggett Taylor of Hazlehurst and Beverly Leggett Beecher of Baxley; two brothers, Carlos Leggett of Baxley and John Leggett of Baxley; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11am at Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Virginia Herrington, Reverend Richard Lewis, Reverend Mark Grimes and Reverend Earl Wiggins officiating.
Interment will follow in Zoar Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be M.C. Leggett, Dale Johnson, Stacy Leggett, Huey Lane, Randy Carter and Joey Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends in attendance.
