Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the passing of Herbert Richard Eden who passed away on October 29th 2019 at home, with his Son, Daughter in-law and Granddaughter, the spark of energy, also known as the Soul of “The “Real” Mr. Eden” joined the Cosmos to continue the Never Ending Journey!
He is survived by his Brother Eric, Sons: Rix and Tam.
He was the Hellion amongst his siblings, TA and Eric, and a constant “pain in the ass” to his Mother Gladys…she loved them all!
He made his way to retirement by means of his own efforts and his own company, Criterion Mechanical in South Florida. He retired to North Carolina.
His retirement was bitter-sweet. He and his childhood Best Friend Don Kennedy had had plans to adventure throughout the beautiful Smokey Mountains into old age, tragically both Don and Don’s wife Barbara “Bobby” both passed shortly after Herb retired.
Another good childhood friend, Bobby Griffin kept close ties with Herb throughout his retirement in North Carolina and even through the week of Herb’s passing. Herb always enjoyed Bobby’s phone calls and “interesting” email! J
After nearly thirty two years of enjoying the solitude and beauty of the Smokies, Herb moved in with his Son, Daughter in-law and Granddaughter, in Baxley, GA.
He remained mobile (with assistance) literally until his last night on earth when his energy and his body said, “No Mas!” and he collapsed.
That night, he slept comfortably in his bed into the early morning hours of October 29th when his Soul too said, “Enough” and took wing into the vast Glory of the Heavens!
He lived with his Family for just shy of two years ‘til his Passing.
He will be remembered as a Good and Loving Father and a Gentle Man. Always willing to help and seldom asking for a favor.
Autumn is about Endings! And so Herb’s Journey here has Ended in Autumn! There could not have been a better time!
He will be missed and remembered.
Private memorial services will be held by the family.
Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Herbert Richard Eden.
