Gyitha Devereaux

Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Gyitha Devereaux, age 78, who passed away Saturday, January 04, 2014 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and attended Surrency Community Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, the Lord and her church family.

Survivors include her children, Diane and Michael Luke of Surrency, Andrew and Linda Griffin of Laurel, MD, M.L. and Mariann Devereaux of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Vaughn and Patty Devereaux of Vidalia and Guelda and John Cohee of Callahan, FL; grandchildren, Tiffany and Dustin Allen, Angie and Charlie Crosby, Ryan Cohee, Justin and Courtney Devereaux, Jesse Devereaux, Brian Smith and Sarina Moore; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel and Dewayne Thornton, Jean and Luke Warren and Brenda and Jackie Knox; a sister in-law, Imogene Lamb; a brother in-law, Bobby and Ruth Devereaux; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 2pm at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Carlton Rowell and Reverend Tommy Daniels officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services on Monday at the church.

Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Devereaux, Ryan Cohee, Gary Wayne May, Stanley Griffin, John Cohee and Bernie Pearce.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Surrency Community Church, Senior Citizen Center, Mrs. Joyce Tillman, the members of the Eastern Star and the members of the Pilot Club.

The family will be gathering at home of Diane and Michael Luke at 65 E. Martin St, Surrency, GA.
