Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Ms. Gwendolyn Reese, age 91, who passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at her residence. Ms. Reese was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Howell Reese; a granddaughter, Amy Reese; and two sisters Mary Turner, and Catherine Tyre.
Surviving are her four children, Faye Cowan of Silvercreek, Cindy Reese of Baxley, Kerry Reese (Cecilia) of Baxley, and Jeffery Reese (Teresa) of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren, Rebecca Story (James), Elizabeth Cowan (John), Anna Cowan, Lori Brown (Josh), Sarah Coleman (Kevin), and Brian Reese (Keri); ten great grandchildren, Luke Story, Maggie Story, Mark Story, Katie Coleman, Riley Coleman, Lizzie Brown, J.T. Brown, Taylor Reese, Turner Reese, and Anzleigh Reese; a sister, Myrtle Rich of Enfield, NH; and a special person, Ronnie Buice of Lilburn also survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. from the Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Rentz and Reverend Rick Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Reese will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Active Pallbearers are Brian Reese, Riley Coleman, Kevin Coleman, Josh Brown, Mark Story, and James Story.
Jr. Pallbearers are J.T. Brown, Taylor Reese, and Turner Reese.
Servers are Maggie Story, Lizzie Brown, Anzleigh Reese, and Katie Coleman.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Joy Sunday School Class, and Ms. Delmas Hale’s Sunday School Class.
