Glenn Smith was born April 13, 1962, to the late J.B. and Laverne Smith. He was a building contractor and owner of United Builders. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Glenn was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed all of God’s creations. One of his favorite bible verses was Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” He truly tried to live by those words. He was always willing to help friends, family, or complete strangers. He loved Jesus and his family, and he loved them big. His grandkids meant the world to him, and he never hesitated in showing how much he cared. He just loved everyone. Glenn was a man with strong beliefs but he always tried to show grace. He was always ready to give a hug and a huge smile. His one fault was his coffee addiction. Our local huddle house is surely going to miss him. We are all going to miss him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Tammy Smith.
Survivors include daughters and son in law, Mandy and Jason Moody and Julie and Jeremy Hallman; son Matthew Smith, 3 grandchildren Thomas Moody, Hayden Hallman, and Trystan Moody all of Baxley; Brothers Windell Smith (Iamma) from Baxley, Eddie Smith (Alli) Jefferson, SC; sisters Sandra Bumgardt (Jesse), Elaine Reeves (Donald), and Ann Bowen all of Surrency, GA. Many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends also survive.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 6 P.M. from the Omega Cemetery with the Reverend Lamar Lee and the Reverend Ronnie Rentz officiating.
Interment will follow.
Honorary Pallbearers are Craig and Sonia Eason, Lewis and Lynn White, Gary and Jeanette Jones, Ronnie and Teresa Kimbrell, Royce and Mary Dean, and the crew of United Builders.
The family will gather at the home of Windell and Iamma Smith at 83 Kent St. in Baxley.
Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Glenn Smith.
