Miles - Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services of Gladys Johnson Sikes, age 86, who passed away August 24, 2015 at Appling Healthcare Systems under the care of Comfort Care Hospice. She was a native of Bacon County living in Baxley since 1950, a retired seamstress and caregiver for the elderly and a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church, where she served as a former Sunday school teacher and a Director and Association Leader of W.M.U. Mrs. Gladys loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John H. Sikes; daughter, Marilyn Jenkins and a son, Oscar B. Sikes.

Surviving are her children, Susan and husband Melvin Johnson of Washington, GA, Sandra and husband Billy Smith of Reidsville, Marie and husband Ronnie Lamb of Baxley, Danny and wife Jeannie Sikes of Baxley, Connie and husband Kelly Anderson of Mt. Vernon and Carolyn and husband Corey Griffin of Baxley; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Johnson of Alma; and other family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the Miles - Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Rick Brown, Allen Rea and Kelly Anderson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Adam Hallman, Corey Dean, Daniel Sikes, Dusty Smith, Rusty Smith and Chavis Griffin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be grand-daughters and great grand-daughters.
