Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Gary Dewayne “Boss Hogg” Miller, age 53, who passed away Friday, April 04, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Appling County, a retired produce salesman and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear. He enjoyed speeding in his power chair and talking on his cellphone.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lola Atkinson Miller; two sisters, Polly Carter and Lucy Gibbs.


Survivors include two sisters, Sue Blanton of Jesup and Sarah and Johnny Brown of Odum; five nieces and two nephews also survive.


Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3pm at the Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tim Horne and the Reverend Carlton Rowell officiating.


Interment will follow in the Surrency City Cemetery.


Active pallbearers will be Tony Rowell, Ernest Gibbs, Ernie Austin, Josh Austin, Dave McKay and Don Cuervo.


Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Dewayne’s friends and his nurses’ aides.
