Eldon Sloan

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. Eldon Sloan, age 88, who passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Sloan was a member of Sandhill Creek Freewill Baptist Church, a retired steel worker, and a US Army Veteran.

Mr. Sloan is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Sloan, and his parents, Eldo and Hazel Godwin Sloan.

Surviving are his children, Carla Sloan, and Allen Stephens; a son-in-law, Roger Orvin; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Sandhill Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Ferguson officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Active Pallbearers are Arvie Dane Dyal, Corey Bass, Justin Orvin, Danny Orvin, Ralph Steger, and Gene Mann

Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Sandhill Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
