Earnest "Peewee" Carter

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Mr. Earnest “Peewee” Carter, age 91, who passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at his daughter’s residence in Lexington, North Carolina. He was a native of Appling County living in North Carolina for many years before returning to Appling County. Mr. Carter was a retired glass winder with Pittsburgh Plate Glass and a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Appling County VFW.

Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Emma Edel Mincey Carter.

Surviving is his five children, Gary Carter (Penny), David Carter (Laura), Tera Davis (Mike), Darren Carter, and Stacey Carter (Sheryl); eleven grandchildren, Ana Rainey (Lindon), Andrew Carter (Christine), Allie Massey (Ryan), Brent Carter, Jordan Little, Amanda Davis (Jared Latham), Kaley Davis, Brittany Todd (Kelly), Clif Carter, Savannah Carter, and Noah Carter; ten great grandchildren; and four siblings, Edward Carter (Judy), Lucy Beckworth, Ethel Beckworth (Hoyt), and Elaine Dollar also survive.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. from the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doug Weisel officiating.

Interment will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Active Pallbearers are Bubba Stone, Tommy Carter, Justin Carter, Rodney Taylor, Ross Taylor, Mitchell Tomberlin, and Dustin Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers are all in attendance.
