Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Earl Beckworth, age 66, who passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Appling Health Care Systems. He was a former Lineman with Western Union, Gibson Electric and Utilities Construction and also worked for Beckworth Water and Sewer and Beckworth Sawmills. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a member of Philippi Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Allie Mae Taylor Beckworth; two nieces, Nikki Underwood Graham and Brenda Gail Beckworth Raynor; three brothers, Thomas Beckworth, Langford Beckworth, James Carroll Beckworth and Ralph Beckworth Jr.

Survivors include four sisters, Carolyn Lynn and husband Roger of Hazlehurst, Jean Googe of Rock Hill, SC, Ester Underwood and husband Shearwin of Hazlehurst and Merle Brewer and husband James of Lumber City; a brother, Richard Beckworth and wife Lucy of Baxley; a sister in-law, Gwen Beckworth; several special nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 6 until 9 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2 pm at the Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Robert Wigley officiating.

Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Aaron Beckworth, Dennis Googe, Mickey Floyd, Trevor Floyd, Howard Scott and Hayden Graham.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of the Pavillion and ask them to be honorary pallbearers at the funeral services on Monday.

The family will be gathering at the home of Richard Beckworth at 2751 Prentiss Road in Baxley.
