Dennis Bryant

Dennis Bryant came into this world on May 11, 1958. He was a faithful father, pastor, and friend. He was affectionately called “Brother” or “Pastor”. He made his triumphant transition to glory on September 11, 2021. Surely, he is in the arms of Jesus.

More than anything, Dennis loved his family and the Lord. He was a dad, a provider, a comforter, and a teacher to his children. He taught them all how to live a life of integrity and value. He has many grand and great grandchildren whom he also loved dearly.

Dennis Bryant served God for 46 years, and he was the lead pastor at Oak Grove Church of God for 27 years. He worked more than the average pastor and gave everything he had to his church. He loved his church and his congregation with a passion and a drive. Dennis’ desire was to spread the true gospel, and to see souls saved. He was a pastor in every sense of the word. He was a prayer warrior with an anointing that will never be matched. He was also extremely talented and loved singing, playing his harmonica, and his guitars.

Dennis was funny, he always had a joke to tell or a rhyme to make up. He was the light of the room and the loudest person in the room. He never went a day without coffee, and you could count on him to sneak into the kitchen in the middle of the night for a sweet snack.

Most importantly, he was a good man, he would do anything for anyone. He was always a call away and always put people first. He was a successful man. He wasn’t prideful or boastful, but he was blessed beyond measure. He worked hard, and he built a legacy. He recently stated that he didn’t deserve half of what God has blessed him with, but we all know that’s not true. He embodied the love of the Lord. If anyone deserved the goodness and the blessings of the Lord, it was him!

We will miss him beyond words, but we find joy in knowing that we will see him again! We love you!

He is preceded in death by his parents, William, and Fannie Mae Bryant; two siblings, Elbert Bryant, and Lucille Stanfield; and one grandson Dennis “Dub” Bryant.

Surviving is his wife, Martha Bryant; eight children, Danny Key, Allen (Stacie) Key, Harry (Nikki) Jenkins, Michele Powell, Ann (Juan) Perez, Denise Bryant, Shonda (Matt) Bass, Chandell (Brent) Daniels; five stepchildren, Lara (Steve) Allen, Linda Hewitt, Glenda Gay, Jackie (Sheri) Brannon, and Dan (Valerie) Brannon; twenty-three grandchildren and a multitude of great grandchildren; and two brothers, Zeno Bryant and Hurbert Bryant also survive.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Church of God with Reverend Charles Ogletree and Reverend Bobby Colter officiating.
