David Overman

David Overman passed to be with his Father on July 29th, 2024, in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. He was 81 years of age after celebrating his last birthday on June 16th; the day also being Father’s Day. David was born in Raleigh, North Carolina into a large family. He entered the military at the early age of 17 where he served in the Airforce as a Fireman. After leaving the military, David resided in Atlanta, GA and later moved to Jacksonville, FL. He spent his career as a well known and respected Fire Protection Engineer, designing sprinkler systems for large commercial buildings. David was known for his mechanical abilities enabling him to repair or build virtually anything he set his mind to. He used his skill to benefit his family and friends.

 David is survived by his Son, Matt Overman, Sister, Betsy Ann Green, Brother, Richard Overman, Step Grandson, Chuck Hallman, and his children, Cody and Brooke Hallman.

 A visitation for David will be held August 9th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, and burial at 3:30 pm in Crosby Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Baxley, GA.
