Daniel Lee "D.L." Blanton

Mr. Daniel Lee Blanton 93, of Hilliard passed away October 23, 2012. He was a native of Surrency, Ga., but lived most of his life in Hilliard, Fl. retiring as a truck driver. His passion for driving & his fur baby BB kept him active throughout the years until the last few months of his life due to his illness.

Mr. Blanton is predeceased by his sons Charles T. Blanton and Robert W. Blanton.

Surviving Family Members include his wife of 70 years Johnnie Blanton, their seven sons; Harry Blanton a resident of Hilliard, John (Mary) Blanton, Richard (Sue) Blanton residence of Jacksonville, Steve (Janet) Blanton, Roger (Diane) Blanton residence of Yulee, Joe (Tina) Blanton residence of Callahan and Jeff (Sharon) Blanton of Hilliard; one daughter, Vickie (James) Rhoden residence of Hilliard; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10 am from the David E. Miles Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
