Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Dale McLain, age 76, who passed away Friday, July 3 at the Appling Health Care Systems after a sudden illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County. He was retired from Rayonier Forestry Division with 32 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains. He enjoyed bluegrass music and his faithful canine companion Sassy. He was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his companion, Claudine Carter; a son and daughter-in-law Freddie McLain and Susie; a daughter, Trunetta McMillan; a sister and brother-in-law, June Cauley and Alton all of Baxley; 3 grandchildren, Stacie and husband Jason Sellers, Shane and wife Haley McLain, and Rodney McLain; 7 great-grandchildren, Lynsey, Jasonthomas, Lexi, Koby, Anna, Grayson, and Gavin.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 5 at 6:00 P.M. in the Miles-Noble Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Kelly and Rev. Bobby Brinkley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.

Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Sam Coleman, Chris Rowell, Jason Thomas Sellers and Jason Sellers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard and Ann Eason, Tendall and Paula Carter, Joel Stock, Chris and Jeannie Horton, Ronnie and Carol Lewis, Zand and Tammy Murphy, Jared Murphy, Linton and Brandy Deloach, Ronnie and Shirley Thornton, Bennie Deloach, Lamar and Sara Jones, Dr. Errol Graham, Hobart and Margaret Barfield, Billy and Gilda Webb, Brian and Tennille Turner, Dr. Danny Peterson and the Surrency High School graduating class of 1957.
