Collene B. Davis

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Ms. Collene B. Daviss, age 87, who passed away on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta. Ms. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County; she was a 1952 graduate of Appling County High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Baxley. She began her career at Baptist Village in Waycross, worked for the Baxley/Appling County Chamber of Commerce, and managed the office of her husband Dr. Wilton F. Davis.

Ms. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wilton F. Davis; her parents, Leroy and Elizabeth Ahl Bowen; and three siblings, Wade Bowen, Joann Mincey, and Kathleen Bullard.

Surviving is her daughter, Robin Davis (Bill Wassell) of Atlanta; three siblings, Truman Bowen of Baxley, Reda Taylor of Waycross, and Faye Gray of Jacksonville; and a brother-in-law, John Wassell of Atlanta.

A private graveside service was held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Blackshear City Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Jordan and Reverend Scott Pickering officiating.

Ms. Davis was loved by her family and friends; she will be greatly missed.
