Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Mr. Claude "Buck" Williams, Jr., age 82, who passed away Monday, March 30,2015 at Appling Health Care System. He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County; was a retired farmer, bus driver and iron worker. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member and deacon of Red Oak Baptist Church; a member of the Holmesville Lodge #95 F&A.M., Red Oak Fire Department and a Board Member of Appling County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Jennie Williams, Sr. and three sisters, Fannie Anderson, Jimmie Peacock and Edna Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Graham Williams of Baxley; five children, Glenn Williams of Baxley, Jennie and husband Robert Drawdy of Graham, Larry and wife Cecilia Williams of Baxley, Susan and husband Dwain Sellers of Baxley and Stacey Buck and wife Cathy Williams of Baxley; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and wife Violet Williams of Baxley and Charles and wife Betty Williams of Conyers; one sister, Velma "Sis" Schurr of Baxley; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 4pm at Red Oak Baptist Church with the Reverend Daniel Harris, Reverend Ron Ross, Reverend David Barber and Reverend Denny Waters officiating.

Mr. Williams will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services.

Interment will follow in the Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 6-9pm at Red Oak Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers will be Jamie Williams, R. Jay Drawdy, Zack Williams, Matthew Hulett, Will Smith, Rodney Sellers, Shane Peacock and Adam Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be all in attendance.
