Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Charles M. "Butch" Turner, Jr., 69, who passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at the home of Patricia and Herbert Westberry under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. He was a native of Appling County and had lived in Jesup for the past 15 years. He was a retired over the road truck driver and had worked for the City of Jesup for 6 years. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where was baptized.
Preceding him in death was his father, Charles Turner, Sr.; mother, Mattie Turner Waddell; a brother, Roger Lee Turner and stepfather, James Waddell.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Turner and wife Kathryn of Wilmington Island and Allen Turner and wife Carol of Pooler; three sisters, Eunice Waddell and husband Sam of Jesup, Patricia Westberry and husband Herbert of Odum and Brenda Rozier and husband Pete of Baxley; four brothers, Howard Turner and wife Pat of Baxley, Thomas Turner and wife Neenan of Baxley, Eddie Turner of Baxley and Randy Turner and wife Ann of Lakeland, GA; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 3pm at Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tim Horne officiating.
Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Turner, Allen Turner, Chip Fuller, Pete Rozier, Eddie Turner and Howard Turner.
Honorary pallbearers will be cousins and Hospice of South Georgia staff.
