Charles Kirkland

Baxley- Charles Hansford "Pa" Kirkland, 70, passed away January, 29, 2013 at Appling Healthcare Systems after a brief illness.
He was a United States Army Veteran of 26 years serving in Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Kirkland; brother, Eldon Kirkland and three sisters, Milford Baxley, Althea Elmore and Evelyn Kirkland.

Survivors include six children, George W McCulligh, Cherise Kersey, Claudie Suggs and husband Johnny, Kathy Michelle Teems, James Teems and Brandon Teems; seven grandchildren, Chas Suggs, Buddy Suggs, Brad Kersey, Logan Elliott, Priscilla Harris, Catherine Kersey, Katie Teems; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor O'Berry and husband Willis and Patricia Sikes and husband Willard; two brothers, Larry Kirkland and wife Kathy and Stevie Futch; special friend, Benny Morris and Willie Lee Russell; nieces, nephews and other family member also survive.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 4:30 pm at the David E. Miles Chapel with the Reverend Charles Hutchinson officiating.

Interment will follow at Friendship Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
