Carolyn Toler Altman

Miles - Nobles Funeral Home announces the funeral services of Mrs. Carolyn Toler Altman, age 82, who passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Bethany Home in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Appling County and a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Carolyn was a homemaker and along with her husband Ottis operated Altmans County Store for 22 years and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Luther and Beulah Mathis Toler, her husband, Ottis Altman and a son, Russell Altman.
Surviving is one son, Dewey Altman and wife Shirley of Baxley; two daughters, Joann Bellew and husband Donald of Baxley and Diane Knight and husband Lloyd of Baxley; nine grandchildren, Rose Toler, Patsy Dickie, Shirlene Jackson, Two Bellew, Yolanda Wright, Michael Edge, Skipper Hutcheson, Buddy Altman and Richie Altman; two brothers, Thomas Toler of Alma and Miles Ray Toler of Myakka City, FL; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverends Michael McClintock, Billy Bratton and Earl Wiggins officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Altman will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Toler, Danny Orvin, Johnny Altman, Tommy Altman, Wayne Branch and Junior Harden.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends and family in attendance.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www. alz.org.
