Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the death of Mr. James Earl “Billy” Carter, age 80, who passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at his residence in Rincon. Mr. Carter was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a retired truck driver and a member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Seveta Craven Carter; brother, Reno Carter and a nephew, Glynn Carter.

Surviving is his wife, Brenda Shumans Carter of Rincon; three daughters, Pam Carter of Rincon, Tammy Carter of Baxley, Jina and husband Claude Diehl of Guyton and Julie and husband Carlos Griffin of Baxley; six grandchildren including two special grandchildren, Carter and Bodi Lastinger of Baxley; sister, Barbara and husband Mike Moore of Baxley and special nephew, Jody Carter of Baxley.

A private memorial service will be held at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to a charity of your choice.
