Miles~Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Betty Voncil Spell, 70, who passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at her residence under the care of Hospice of Golden Isles. She was a lifelong resident of Appling County; a homemaker, secretary of Spell's Construction, and a member of Altamaha Church of God. Mrs. Spell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dolly Aldridge.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, J.E. Spell of Brunswick, three children, Jamie Spell and wife Denise of Brunswick, Voncil Poppell and husband Craig of Brunswick and J.R. Spell of Tyron, GA; ten grandchildren, Jeramie Spell, Michael Durrence, Jonathan Durrence, Collin Spell, Kinsley Spell, Morgan Spell, Jessica Spell, Austin Spell, Hannah Poppell and Eric Spell. Four great- grandchildren, Kaitlynn Spell, Hunter Spell, Allie Spell and Kylie McKenzie.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September, 20, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Surrency City Cemetery with the Reverend R.M. Warren, Reverend Carlton Rowell and Craig Poppell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Surrency City Cemetery.

A reception will follow at the Surrency Community Bible Church following the graveside service.

All friends and family are invited to attend.

Active pallbearers will be Jeramie Spell, Jonathan Durrance, Michael Durrence, Eric Spell, Collin Spell and Bryan Horton.
